498. ఔషధానకు అవపథ్యానకు చెల్లు, రోగము పై పెచ్చు.

[The benefit derived from] the medicine is to be deducted from [the harm done by] carelessness in diet, and the balance remaining is an increase of the disease.
Diet cureస్ more than the lancet.
The best physicians are Dr. Diet, Dr. Quiet, and Dr. Merryman.

499. కంకణముల చెయ్యి ఆడితే, కడియముల చెయ్యి ఆడును.

If the hand with Kankanamulu moves, the hand with Kadiyamulu moves also.
Konkanamulu are bracelets worn by women. Kadiyamulu are those worn by men.
Where woman leads man follows.

500. కంచము అమ్మి మెట్టెలు కొన్నట్టు.

Selling the dish and buying toe-rings.
He has given the hen for the egg. (German)[1]

501. కంచి అంత కాపరము గడ్డలు చేసినది.

She made the family as large as Kanchi into clods.
Said of a woman who by going astray brings disgrace upon the whole family.
Kanchi is the celebrated town of Conjeveram.
