న్నారు గనుక, మీయారోగ్య విషయమయి నేను ముఖ్యముగా భయపడుచున్నాను. మీకోసమును, నాకోపమును, మనదేశముకోసమును, దేవునికోసమును, దయచేసి మీమేదస్సునకు భారముపెట్టకుఁడు. ఈ పుస్తకము ఆపుస్తకమును భాషాంతరీకరింపవలెనన్న తలంపును అధమము కొంత కాలమువఱకైనను కట్టిపెట్టుఁడు. మఱియెవ్వరైనను వివేకవర్ధనిని జరపనిండు. రాత్రి పాఠశాల విషయమైన యల్పవివాదములలో తగులుకొనకుఁడు. అతఁడు మంచిదారికి రానేరనివాఁడైన, పోనిండు.
సంబంధములను కుదిర్చి యావశ్యకమైన పనిచేయుటకు సంపర వెంకన్న గారిని మనము పనిలో పెట్టవలెనని తలఁచుచున్నాను. దీనినిగూర్చి నేను పై-రా గారితో మాటాడినాను. ఆయనకు మీరుకూడ వ్రాయుఁడు. మీరు చెప్పిన యింకొక మనుష్యుని కనుఁగొనుటకు నేను శక్తుఁడను కాలేదు. లచ్చిరాజుగారి కాతని పేరిచ్చినాను."[1]

My dear and respected Friend,
The S.S. Ellora is expected here today. So I shall be off. I saw Mr. P. R. and 'Judge.' I also visited Mr. Durham. I caused Mr. P. R. to send telegrams to Mr. Carmichoal, Chenchalrow &c. The Sub Judge thinks that no appeal may be filed. We must bring a civil suit by and bye. Mr. Durham and Sub Judge gave me rather long lectuers on the subjecʈ I saw Mr. Lachiraju, Ramarow &c. They have got a letter in the girl's own writing to you asking you to marry her to some one of her caste. I think the marriage may be preformed this month. I told the bridegroom to go to you tomorrow or next Saturday. If the girl is once removed from her parents, then she can resist the temptation to go back o her parents, I am sorry I have not been able to speak to the subjudge about this marriage. If one marrige is celebrated again, then there is hope for more being preformed. I have been of course told these things.
Well, apart from the loss of money and time caused by this trip, apart from the trouble, I am sorry to have left Rajahmundry on one account. There are two souls in Rajahmundry whom I should consider most precious. I am particularly afraid of your health, because you overwork yourself. Please don't burden your brain for your sake, for my sake, for our country's sake and for God's sake. Give up for a time at least all idea of translating this and that book. Let some other person conduct the V-. Please do not involve yourself in those shabby quarrels regarding the Night School. If we find him incorrigible never mind.
I think we must employ సంపర వెంకన్న గారు to engage parties and do the needful. I have spoken about it to Mr.P. R. Please also write to him yourself
I have not been able to find the other man you spoke of I gave his name to Mr. Lachiraju
