ప్రాచీనపాకృతశతకములు.
శతకరచనము ప్రాకృతమునందేకాక వేదపురాణములయందుఁ గూడనారంభ మైనట్లు పెక్కునిదర్శనములు కనఁబడుచున్నవి. కేవల స్తుతిమాత్రము లైన భాగములయం దనేకప్రదేశములలో పరమేశ్వరుని గుణవర్ణనమునకు సహస్రనామములఁ జెప్పుట, పలుమార్లు గుణవర్ణన మొనర్చుట మన కగపడును. ఒకనాడు చేసినపని పలుసార్లు చేసిన ఫలిత మధిక మని జపతపములు వృద్ధి యైనవి. ఆజపమొనర్చుటకు విధించిన నియమములయందు భగవద్గుణవర్ణనము నియమిత సంఖ్యగా నొనర్చుచుండిరి. స్తోత్రము లష్టోత్తరశత మని యుండుట పలువు రెఱిఁగినదే! కాని వేదపురాణములయందు గ్రంథమునడుమ సందర్భానుసారముగ మంత్రపుష్పము, ఏకాదశరుద్రములవంటివి-శతకములపోలికలు నియమితసంఖ్య గలప్రార్థనాదికము- లున్నను, అవి వేఱుగ వ్రాసినశతకములుకాని, చాటుప్రబంధములుకాని కావు. అందువలన వానినిఁగూర్చి వివరింపక, వేఱుగ శతకము లారంభ ఎట్లయినవి మనకుఁ దెలిసినంతలోఁ బరీక్షించి చూతము.
